The weekend is over – at least according to the calendar. But it is still being replayed in my mind over and over. It was a weekend that we had anticipated and looked forward to for some time. On December 10, 2010 Faith Passage played our first “show” at Now or Latte Cafe in Trenton, Ohio. We had only begun writing songs a few months prior to this – but couldn’t wait to get out there and share them with people. A lot has changed in this last year – but that exitement about getting out and sharing hasn’t faded. However, it has evolved and grown into so much more than we ever dreamed. When we first started out, we had the mindset of “performing” songs for that we had written for people. These songs did and still do share our faith and we will always be proud of that…but initially we were a “band.” One year later we are no longer a band. Yes, we are still writing music and sharing our faith with anyone who will listen, but one year later we have evolved into a music ministry. When we go out to different places to share, not only do we share music, we also share our faith, our story, and our mission. We have changed from performing to worshipping. I should really say that God made this change. He stirred in us and moved in our hearts and led us to become who we are today. Our purpose has become so much more meaningful now, and we are even more driven to live out the plan God has in store for us. This past Saturday, one year later, Brian and I stood on the stage in a beautiful new church building in Blanchester, Ohio. Even more beautiful than the facility were the people that welcomed us. We spent the evening meeting people, sharing our music, our testimonies, and our mission for 2012. The spirit of the Lord was most definitely in that place. We all worshipped together and I believe that Brian and I got more out of it than anyone who had come to see us. Even as I type this, I find it hard to put the whole thing in words. It was a memory that will never be forgotten. We have big plans for Faith Passage in the upcoming year. The events of this past Saturday night fueled a fire in us that will burn strong as we carry out the plans that God has put on our hearts. One year later, God continues to guide us, bless us, teach us, and show us his extravagant love.
