Brand new all over again

I spent the majority of my Friday night cleaning out and organizing my closets. Although this may sound like a dreadful task to some, to me it was time well spent. It was not just an exercise in organization, but also the sign of a new start. Time to trade in my flip flops and bathing suit for my professional “teacher” clothes. I’m still like a kid when it comes to the beginning of a new school year. I love the idea of a fresh start, an empty notebook ready to be filled, a plan book full of new lessons to share with new students, and new ideas to be shared. There is something very reassuring to me about the idea of things being “brand new” again. Much like the feeling that I get when I think about God’s love. He gave me the chance to be brand new in Him. No matter how broken I am, no matter how many mistakes I make, no matter how hopeless I may feel, I get to be brand new all over again in Him.
